Information theoretic bounds for data hiding in compressed images

چکیده
We present an information-theoretic approach to obtain an estimate of the number of bits that can be hidden in still images, or, the capacity of the data-hiding channel. We show how addition of the message signal in a suitable transform domain rather than the spatial domain can signiicantly increase the channel capacity. We compare the capacities achievable with diierent decompositions like DCT, DFT, Hadamard, and subband transforms.

An Information-Theoretic Model for Image Watermarking and Data Hiding
An information–theoretic model for image watermarking and data hiding systems is presented in this paper. The fundamental capacity limits of these systems are determined by the statistical model used for the host image, by the distortion constraints on the data hider and the attacker, and by the information available to the data hider, to the attacker, and to the decoder. We consider wavelet st...
متن کاملA Survey of Reversible Data Hiding for VQ-Compressed Images
Data hiding has been popular over the past decades, and many different methods of the data hiding have been proposed. Nowadays, data hiding in compressed images becomes more and more popular because of the rise of the social media. Thus, we survey the previous research of data hiding of compressed images to provide the representative methods and analyze their capacities and bit rates. Finally, ...

متن کاملOn the choice of transforms for data hiding in compressed video
We present an information-theoretic approach to obtain an estimate of the number of bits that can be hidden in compressed image sequences. We show how addition of the message signal in a suitable transform domain rather than the spatial domain can significantly increase the data hiding capacity. We compare the data hiding capacities achievable with different block transforms and show that the c...
